I need to make some bulk changes to the contents of one specific folder in my asset library. The only way I can find to download it is to sync the entire asset library. There must be some way I can get only the few MB that I need instead of the entire 5gb download, but I can’t figure out how. Please help, the sync is agonizingly slow and at this rate won’t be done until well after the session I need these files edited for.
It has been 18 hours of sync attempts. More than half the assets library has failed outright, and the remaining half took around 2.5 hours to sync 2 gigabytes of data on a connection that should have done it in a tenth of that time. I only need to edit a few dozen mb of these assets and they were among the last to show up. For the future, how do I download only specific assets from my library without syncing the entire thing? And how do I get around files that just absolutely refuse to sync no matter what I do?
Hi there
You can designate that the sync should sync only a specific folder in the remote assets library rather than the entire assets library by using an API key (see How to share access to your Assets Library) sharing that one folder rather than the entire library.
Since the files are uploaded to your local Foundry data folder through the local Foundry server, though, it’s possible that some file types are not synced, e.g. zip files. Specific valid asset files that fail to sync will generally not hold up the rest of the files from syncing, unless something is going wrong. If that is the case, could I please ask you to open the dev tools console (F12) (before encountering the error) and then share a screenshot of any errors that appear there?
