How do I delete a game?

I created a new game, but never installed a game system into it. I would like to delete the game so it doesn’t show up in “my games” but can’t find a delete button or a tutorial on how to do this. I removed the World data following How to delete content from your data storage, but the game still shows in my “my games” list as well as “Games Configuration.”

How do you delete a game from the forge that’s not set up or linked to a foundry world?

Hi, to delete a world with Game Manager enabled go to The Forge and select the world to delete that are listed below the table tools, then click Delete World button.

I don’t have game manager. How do I delete the game world without game manager?

At the bottom of the game tab you will see Launch - Details - Chat buttons, select Details and you’ll be shown an option in next tab to Leave Game.

I’m sorry, I don’t think I was clear. Let me start over.

Hi,
I have a Game Master account. I realize this is the lowest subscription tier, and I’m not able to use the excellent tools The Forge created to help automate the management of Foundry. Due to my subscription tier, I must manage Foundry directly, which suits my needs for the one game I created.

When initially creating my game, I followed instructions I found in The Forge Tavern (the official forum) on how to set up a game world. At some point, I goofed up and started over, which meant that I now have two worlds created. I am successfully running one Pathfinder campaign, thanks to the fabulous hosting service The Forge offers. However, I have an unused world still configured.

I am looking for information on how to delete an unwanted game world with a Game Master subscription tier. I understand, based on previous comments, that if I paid for a Story Teller account, I could use the Game Manager, a fantastic service offered by The Forge, which provides the option “Delete World” under the “Games Tools” section of the Game Configuration page. However, I do not have the Story Teller subscription tier, which is needed to take full advantage of The Forge’s excellent tools. As any other subscription tier is overkill for my needs, I do not wish to upgrade my subscription at this time.

I have been unsuccessful in finding information on how to delete a world with a Game Master subscription tier account. In an effort to figure out how to delete the unwanted world from my account, I deleted the data associated with the unwanted world by using the “Table Tools” option “View Data Storage,” then selected the delete button (trash can icon) for the unwanted world. Deleting the data, however, did not delete the unwanted world as I had hoped. There doesn’t appear to be any other intuitive way to delete a game world on a Game Master subscription tier account.

Is there a way to delete a game world with a Game Master account in The Forge?

For more visual context:
This is how I created the unwanted Game World:

These are the options available on the “My Games” page for the unwanted game world:

And these are the options I have available to me on the Game Configuration page:

Ah thanks for elaborating, didn’t mean to imply you’d need to upgrade subscription tiers to resolve this, that would be wholly inappropriate.

So when launching your server from GM tier you get brought to Foundry setup page, from there
you can see all the worlds hosted on Forge, simply right clicking on a world will give you a contextual option to Delete World.
But I guess you already know that, so would you be referring to the last image you uploaded that has two servers showing under the Table Tools, you say you created both of those?

Thanks for the reply!

Yes on both counts!

Yes, I’m aware of how to delete a game world in Foundry itself.

And yes, in the last image I posted, there are two servers I created when I first signed up for The Forge Game Master subscription. Not knowing what I was doing, I thought I had goofed up the first server I set up, so I tried to start over and created the second server (the one on the right with the red stop square) before ever launching My Foundry for the first time. Because I never launched the first server and started Foundry for the first time, I think I was able to create a second Game Server through The Forge. Is this a bug?

I have since figured out what I’m doing by reading the fantastic walk-through (Getting your game started on The Forge) that I should have read in the first place!

The important part is that I have an in-progress campaign. While I want to delete the bad Game Server I created, I need to ensure that my good Game Server doesn’t get messed up, as my players and I have put a lot of work into it already.

If you can see my account, these are the two Game Servers (I want to delete the one labeled as “bad game”):

Hi again.

I’m fairly certain this is a bug, maybe only a visual one, did you perhaps create this world during your Trial period with higher subscription tier selected?
What bothers me still is how you’re seeing this without Game Manager, for reference I’m posting two screenshots below.

This one is with GM enabled, notice that it is displaying all world I created by their given name, similar to how you’re seeing your world now.

This is with GM disabled and it’s only showing my server name and nothing else, this is what you should be seeing.

So what happens when you select and run Rise of the Runelords? Are you taken directly to the game or do you get brought to Foundry setup page?
And what happens when you select “Create New Game” button?

Hi akifsm,

I think you’re right! I must have created the game servers during the trial period when I had the Story Teller subscription.

When I launch my Rise of the Runelords server, whichever world I left running within Foundry launches. Because I have 2 game worlds, I typically shut down whichever one I have running by returning to the setup page, but if I leave one running, launching My Foundry from The Forge will automatically start the game.

When I click the Create New Game button within The Forge, I receive a prompt to launch My Foundry and create a new Game World from within Foundry. Example:

I think you found the root cause: creating a second Game World while using a trial of Story Teller, giving you access to Game Manager, results in a second Game System getting stuck when you downgrade to a Game Master subscription!

Seems we’ve found the culprit of this issue then, and a unique one at that. Please send us an email from your Forge associated email account at [email protected], reference this forum thread and short summary, our tech people will get this bug fixed up for you and future users.
Thanks!
