When is The Forge going to update Foundry to 0.8.xxx?

Hi,
Canny find this answer so thought I’d ask the question. Foundry is updating at the end of May,(??) to stable 0.8.xx version. Will The Forge be updating to this as Default, if so when, or do we get the choice to update from 0.7.9, after Foundry?
Thanks in advance

Hello!
If you have it set to “Stable” (this is the default) in https://forge-vtt.com/setup. Then it will automatically update you. We will not set it to 0.8.x stable on release day, but after a little bit of time when we find it stable.

If you want to continue being on 0.7.9 go to https://forge-vtt.com/setup and change it under “Foundry Version”.
If you’re on Story Tellers Game Manager, you can go to https://forge-vtt.com/setup#manager=1

Okay, now if you’ve been reading all of the updates concerning how this is supposed to happen, then you know you cannot just upgrade from 0.7.9 to 0.8.6, but must first unload 0.7.9, including all of your stuff, and THEN you can upgrade to 0.8.6 and reinstall everything.

Is The Forge going to allow that to take place on a per-game basis, by the GM for each game, or are you going back everything up, the change over, then reload everything? I’ve been wondering this for a couple weeks, now, I just haven’t had time to broach the subject until now.

I appreciate your response to this. Thank you.

On The Forge, this should be an easy process.
You won’t have to do anything other than just wait/update as with all the updates this far.

We’re doing one huge backup of everything before we update all stable versions, but not in this sort of context.
It’s a fail-safe if there should be a sudden crash in Foundry/Forge that makes it unplayable. (This will not be a backup for individuals, we are not able to reach backups of individual worlds)
If you’re concerned about the update, I recommend just backing everything up before you update yourself. If you don’t want to update to 0.7.9, you can change your versioning as shown in the other comment above.
