The Forge has been wildly successful in its short lifespan. But with success comes increased obligations. One of these increased obligations is sales tax in some US states.
Beginning October 1st, 2021, we will begin charging sales tax in the following US states:
- Maryland
- Utah
Any invoices within these states due October 1st and onward will be charged sales tax, where applicable. Invoices due/paid before this date will not be charged retroactively. You can preview the additional cost of these via the draft invoice feature available on your account page.
Please be aware that initial invoice previews will not correctly display the sales tax. This is due to a bug in Stripe’s invoice system. The additional charge should still be displayed, but it will only be displayed as a percentage, without being added to the invoice total. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue. Any future invoice previews should correctly display the total due, including tax.
