Brief Description of the game/setting/premise:
Welcome to Only War. Only War is an action TTRPG set in the Warhammer 40K universe where you assume the roles of Imperial Guards. These brave men and women give their lives daily for the Imperium. Tired of playing the “Hero” or VIP of the adventure? Well in this game, you are just a couple of soldiers stuck in a very bad situation with nothing but your wits, weapons, and fellow soldiers-in-arms to get you out. Work together, work smart, and maybe you’ll come out of this alive…probably not though.
One of the main draws of Only War is sacrificing your character in action-movie moments to allow the escape of your fellow squad members, the destruction of an important target, or even a few more minutes until the rest of the squad goes down in a hail of blazing and medal awarding glory. But what if you’re smart enough, or lucky enough, to not die? Awesome! See how far up the chain of command you can get, leveling up your character and their NPC “Comrad” in their specializations for cool abilities you can pull out in the heat of battle to save the day once again or die trying. Whether through the glory of victory or the commendable bravery of death, become legends of your Regiment in Warhammer 40K, Only War.
Aditional Details:
We will be using FoundryVTT with the 3d Canvas module to experience epic 3d battle maps. Think of it like Terrain you would build or buy in real life, just digital. We will also be using Discord for voice/text chat. This game will run for 4 hours, with a 10-15 minute break halfway through. If you’re new, awesome! Still, feel free to join and you can learn along the way! Books will be provided and session 0 is free! See you at the table!
