Curse of Strahd
In the land of Barovia, the sun never truly rises. A cursed mist clings to the crooked trees, and whispers of the damned wail through grim forests. In this land nightmares and fears are made manifest from the depths of your psyche. At the heart of this dread realm looms Castle Ravenloft, perched atop a mountainrange of jagged peaks. This gothic keep is the home of the vampire lord, Strahd von Zarovich. His name is spoken only in hushed tones, for he is the master of this nightmarish domain, a being of eldritch power and perpetual bloodthirst. No one leaves Barovia willingly, and those who dare to challenge the powers that be are often swallowed by the darkness, doomed to the mists forevermore.
Will you be the one to break the curse, or will you too become a lost soul among many, trapped forever in Barovia’s eternal night? The mists have parted, and your fate beckons—if you have the courage to face it.

My GMing style:
Hey potential player! I have been GMing for around 5 years and have finished two homebrew campaigns and am in the finishing arc of my third, all of them falling into the dark fantasy genre. My players have described me as adaptable, creative and hard-working. I love working with every individual player to find out the wants and needs of both the player and their character. Knowing about what makes you tick helps me to incorporate that to create the best experience. Cooperatively crafting a narrative where everyone has personal stakes in the campaign is one of my core tenets. Another principle is to put much effort to immersion and aesthetics. I include elaborate visuals, handwritten texts and handpicked music to set the tone of the setting.
Characters and story: go hard on making your backstory relevant. I create the entire campaign around my players input, making them center stage.
D&D elements split: 70% Roleplay and narrative, 30% combat and puzzles. My belief is that the former should be the reason of the latter. I’m not fond of combat for combat’s sake. When combat happens, it’s directly due to your actions.
Encounters: I approach combat more as puzzles than a simple fight to the death. Monsters will have gimmicks you can work with and I strife to make the battlemap interactive and dynamic. Creativity is rewarded here.
House rules:
Avoid talking politics and ideology. Respect one another.
Respect character spotlight. Try to not butt in frequently. This also goes for GM narration.
In combat, try to have your turn prepared before your turn.
If you have an objection to a ruling, bring it up at the end of the session.
