A Hero Needed – One Last Light in the Forest
The kingdom of Tolbria is on the verge of collapse.
A witch cult rises in the south, twisting ancient rituals and stealing the forest’s spirits for their own.
At their heart stands a figure known only as the Thornmother.
But not all is lost.
In the embers of a failed crusade, a young princess seeks to restore what was forgotten —
and turn ancient traditions into a weapon of hope.
This is Spirits of the Dusk Woods:
A campaign where your choices shape the story,
and one more sword could make the difference.
We’re looking for one new player to join a long-running Dungeon World campaign as it enters its next major arc.
System & Schedule
- System: Dungeon World (custom setting & mechanics)
- Platform: Foundry VTT + Discord (voice)
- Language: English
- Sessions: Sundays, 2025-08-17T16:00:00Z→2025-08-17T20:00:00Z (strict cutoff)
- Group size: 3 players + GM, expanding to 5
What to Expect
- A grounded fantasy world inspired by Germanic folklore
- A strong mix of combat, exploration, social tension, and mystery
- Player decisions matter and have lasting consequences
- The tone and rhythm of the campaign are already set — your role is to join the story in motion and leave your mark on it
This isn’t a sandbox or a freeform experiment.
The world is focused, reactive, and expects you to engage with it seriously.
Current Party
- A cleric, reluctantly rising through political and social ranks
- A druid, a peaceful halfling turning toward the path of the huntress to strike at true evil
- A wizard, uncovering forgotten mysteries in order to stop a looming catastrophe
Taken classes: Cleric, Druid, Wizard
Excluded class: Immolator (doesn’t fit the setting’s tone)
All other base Dungeon World classes are open.
Death Is Final
There is no resurrection magic.
If your character dies, their story ends. You’ll create a new one.
About the GM
I’ve been running TTRPGs for over 25 years.
My table isn’t a democracy — it’s a benevolent dictatorship.
I make the final calls to keep the game fair, focused, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
I value clear structure, reliability, and respect for the table.
If that works for you, you’ll likely feel right at home.
Want to Listen In?
You’re welcome to join as a quiet observer during a session.
Just be aware that we’re currently wrapping up a few long-running threads.
You might not catch everything — but the next arc is built to welcome new characters.
How to Apply
Send me a short message including:
- Who you are
- Your RPG experience (any system – or none at all)
- Which class you’d like to play
- Why this kind of campaign appeals to you
You don’t need Dungeon World experience.
If you’re committed, curious, and ready to play seriously, you’re welcome here — beginner or not.
If that sounds like your kind of game, we’d love to hear from you.
