How to install Bazaar content outside of The Forge

Introduction

Modules, worlds, and asset packages purchased on The Bazaar can be exported anywhere. The Bazaar is a store for Foundry VTT, not just The Forge!

Below, we detail how to export/download content purchased on The Bazaar, and install it on your Foundry VTT instance.

Note: This guide assumes you have already purchased content on The Bazaar. If you are not sure how to purchase content on our store, we have a guide to doing so here .

How to install a Bazaar module

  1. Login to your Forge account, if you have not already done so.
  2. Navigate to the Purchases page on your account page.
  3. Navigate to the My Purchases section on the top.
  4. Select/click the clip icon to the right of the package. When hovered over, it should read “Copy Manifest URL”.

  5. The manifest URL for the package will be copied. Open Foundry VTT.
  6. Navigate to the module menu in your setup menu.
  7. Select “Install Module”.
  8. In the Manifest URL field, paste the manifest URL for your package, and click the install button. The package should now be downloaded and installed by your Foundry VTT instance!

How to install a module from The Bazaar

Modules from The Bazaar can be installed by taking the following steps:

  1. Download the module from The Bazaar.
  2. Navigate to your user data folder for Foundry VTT. If you are on Windows, you can get there by opening Foundry VTT, and right-clicking on the application icon on your taskbar. From there, select “Browse user data”. You can also find this location by navigating to your configuration page on the setup menu, and looking for your “User Data Path”.
  3. Navigate into the modules folder in your user data folder.
  4. Move the module into the modules folder, and extract the module’s zip file here.
  5. If Foundry VTT is open, close it entirely/restart the program.
  6. Open Foundry VTT. The module should now appear in your list of installed modules!

How to Install a Bazaar world

  1. Login to your Forge account, if you have not already done so.
  2. Navigate to the Purchases page on your account page.
  3. Navigate to the My Purchases section on the top.

How to install a world from The Bazaar

Worlds from The Bazaar can be installed by taking the following steps:

  1. Download the world from The Bazaar.
  2. Navigate to your user data folder for Foundry VTT. If you are on Windows, you can get there by opening Foundry VTT, and right-clicking on the application icon on your taskbar. From there, select “Browse user data”. You can also find this location by navigating to your configuration page on the setup menu, and looking for your “User Data Path”.
  3. Navigate into the worlds folder in your user data folder.
  4. Move the world into the worlds folder, and extract the module’s zip file here.
  5. If Foundry VTT is open, close it entirely/restart the program.
  6. Open Foundry VTT. The world should now appear in your worlds menu!

How to install an asset package from The Bazaar

Asset packages aren’t natively supported within Foundry VTT. Fortunately, an asset package is just a zip file with a .json, and a folder containing images, videos, and music! It can be “installed” by taking the following steps:

  1. Login to your Forge account, if you have not already done so.
  2. Navigate to the Purchases page on your account page.
  3. Navigate to the My Purchases section on the top.
  4. Select/click the download icon to the right of the package. When hovered over, it should read “Download Zip Content”.

  5. Download the asset package from The Bazaar.
  6. Navigate to your user data folder for Foundry VTT. If you are on Windows, you can get there by opening Foundry VTT, and right-clicking on the application icon on your taskbar. From there, select “Browse user data”. You can also find this location by navigating to your configuration page on the setup menu, and looking for your “User Data Path”.
  7. Place the asset package in a location of your choosing. We recommend keeping it organized, so that the content will be easier to find.
  8. The files should now show up whenever browsing for that type of content in the in-game file browser for Foundry VTT!

How to export/download purchased content on The Bazaar

  1. Login to your Forge account, if you have not already done so.
  2. Navigate to the Purchases page on your account page.
  3. Navigate to the My Purchases section on the top.
  4. Select the blue download button to the right. You will now be prompted to download your Bazaar purchase!
