How do I create a non-player user with User Management enabled?

I want to create a non-player user for use with the Monk’s Common Display package so I can record my session. I have User Management enabled (great feature, I love it!), but I’m not sure how to accomplish that with this configuration. The way I have in mind that I’d like it to work is that I’d open a second browser tab as the GM and use “Log in as…” to switch that tab to this non-player user, but I’m open to suggestions.

I did see that you can create unassigned Foundry users, which I thought would do what I was looking for, but I’ve already tried creating a user there, and it fails to show up in the player list, as well as in the “Log in as…” options.

I’m hoping it’s not necessary to create a second Forge account to do this (if that’s the case now, please consider this a UX improvement request).

Side note: It would also be cool if you could do “Log in as…” right from the User Management screen.

Hello Mike,

I’m afraid that to join into a game as a user in user management, your Forge account has to be associated with that user in the user manager menu. For your situation, I would recommend logging in via a dedicated streaming account of some sort, either via incognito window, or as a separate browser window.

Just to clarify, you’re saying I should go ahead and create a separate (free) Forge account for this purpose, correct? (I already understand the browser profile tricks for logging into the two separate accounts.)

For the purposes of a proper spectator account, I would recommend so.
