Error installing a module

Hey, so someone I know is having a weird issue where they try to install a module from the manifest link but it returns the error.

Failed to install module: invalid comment length. expected: 3. found: 0

If they install it on their local install of Foundry, there’s no issue. But if they try to install on their forge, it throws the above error. Anyone know what might cause that issue? Their version is v13 Stable 8 (Build 350) for both.

Hi there.

What is this module they are trying to install via manifest?
Has the module been verified for v13 foundry?

Yes, they were trying to install a patreon creator’s module, Khaz Narak by the Reclusive Cartographer (henceforth ‘RC’). If there’s a way i could send you the manifest link without other’s having access to it, that would be preferred. I created the Module in v13, the RC and I both verified that it works and can install via manifest. I’ve forwarded this ticket to them to better explain. I’m pretty sure it’s an issue only on their end, but i’m curious if you’ve ever seen that error before. It sounds like the comment segment of the zip file from the manifest is just missing?

Hi,

That error is unknown to me but our devs will likely know its cause.
Usual suspects should be checked, that is if they have 3rd party antivirus running on their machine or browser, and see if Edge, Firefox or Chrome produce different results

Anyhow, we would want to check the module and the manifest url itself, best way to go about this is to join our Discord where you will see a option to open a ticket which is suitable for sharing of private information.
