I normally use my gaming pc, but I work out of town and all I have for a laptop is a Chromebook. I am just wondering if I can use the Chromebook as a player with my group? I know I’ve had issues trying to install programs on it before because it’s basically a tablet, but I just wasn’t sure if you could use it or not.

I have read mixed results with people using Chromebooks. You should be ok. There is a configuration setting in Foundry to use lower specs - which lowers frame rates, lighting enhancements etc.
Ask your GM to minimise animations and high res maps with lots of walls and lights for the time you are away - that will help alot.
Best bet is to try it and see how it goes.
Internet down load speed might also be an issue while on the move.
