I have the same problem. I can’t upload images via the asset libraby or FoundryVTT.
The size of my images is correct, my server is only 6% full and I have this problem with Edge and Chrome.
Do you have an explanation?
Hi there
Could I please ask you to open the dev tools console (F12) and then reattempt the upload, and share a screenshot of any error messages posted there or returned? That will help us to understand what is going wrong and preventing the upload.
Thank you for your feedback
Here is the error message I receive:
Browse:1
Access to XMLHttpRequest at ‘https://upload.forge-vtt.com/’ from origin ‘https://eu.forge-vtt.com’ has been blocked by CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource.
and
Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FAILED
Thanks for the reply @mrn0mbre
I’ve verified that the upload endpoint is working. I think there’s something else going on, possibly browser or network. I’ll make a few recommendations here that might help us get extra information.
Sometimes, cached data can cause issues. Clearing the browser cache and cookies can help.
In most browsers, you can do this by going to the settings and looking for the privacy or history section.
Extensions, especially those related to privacy, ad blocking, or security, might interfere with requests.
Try disabling all extensions and see if the issue persists. If the problem is resolved, re-enable extensions one by one to identify the culprit.
Sometimes antivirus or security software can interfere with network requests. Temporarily disabling such software can help identify if this is the cause.
If you’re able to test with a VPN or Cloudflare WARP, this might also help eliminate network related issues as the cause.
Thank you again for your help, indeed, it’s a network problem, I can’t upload from home but I succeeded on my company’s network. Apart from Microsoft defender I have nothing in particular, I will try the different options offered.
I found the solution. The problem was the DNS. I just had to clear the DNS cache on the command portion and it fixed the problem. Thank you for the help
hey did you manage to fix this? Universal Battlemaps won’t work for me and I keep getting a few “uploading” then a “disconnected from server” then “creating map” notifications but nothing is actually happening? I tried clearing my DNS but i might be doing it wrong?
For anyone landing on this page from the universal battlemaps import failing, please see Cant upload a universal battlemap file? which continues that conversation
