This is a campaign set amidst absolute chaos.
The grand city of Elturel, once a beacon of hope and faith, is wrenched from the mortal world and dragged into the flaming wastes of Avernus, the first of the Nine Hells.
You are not distant heroes summoned to aid a fallen city—you are citizens of Elturel itself, caught in the maelstrom as it happens.
Survival is your first priority.
Purpose comes next.
As devils, demons, and desperate mortals tear through the streets for their own gain, you must carve out your place amidst the ruins. Every decision you make—every life you save or sacrifice—will shape Elturel’s fate.
Will you rise as saviors, battling against impossible odds to free your home?
Or will you fall into despair, seizing power and forging dark pacts to survive another day?
The citizens around you—clergy, knights, common folk, and even criminals—each offer different paths forward. Whom you trust, whom you betray, and how you choose to navigate the city’s collapse will define the campaign.
And survival within Elturel is only the beginning.
Once the immediate threats are faced, you must descend deeper still—into the Nine Hells itself. There, amidst blood-soaked battlefields and scheming devils, you will seek the infernal chains binding Elturel and shatter them… or find yourselves bound in turn.
Survive the Fall
Your first task is simple: survive.
Gather allies from the shattered remnants of the city’s guard. Protect the innocent—or exploit the chaos for your own ends. As infernal armies descend upon the ruins, you must decide: will you stand as a shield, or a sword?
Shape the Future
As you carve a path through the wreckage, you will encounter powerful figures vying for control: desperate paladins, scheming cultists, broken nobles, and hidden agents of Hell. Each offers different promises—and different prices.
Whom will you trust?
Who will betray you?
What are you willing to sacrifice to reclaim your city—or to claim it for yourself?
Descend Into Hell
When the last defenses of Elturel fall, you will have no choice but to take the fight beyond the ruins.
You will descend into Avernus itself, a blasted landscape of eternal war, where devils and demons clash in endless bloodshed and lost souls fuel the engines of war.
There, amidst the chaos, you must find the infernal chains that bind your city and break them before Elturel is dragged beyond saving.
You will bargain with devils, face horrifying choices, and struggle to preserve even a shred of hope against overwhelming darkness.
