The Story Teller and World Builder tiers provide you with our unique Forge Experience, which comes in the form of the Game and User Managers. The Forge’s intuitive UI to manage both your Foundry games as well as your player’s permissions within each game.
To enable the Game Manager you would need to head over to “My Foundry” where you’ll see the “Game manager” button on the right side of your server configuration.
Press the “Enable Game Management” button to enable the feature.
After enabling the game manager, new games will appear in your configuration page, one for each of your Foundry worlds.
Each of your games will have their own individual URL’s and configurations, and you can invite your players to the specific games they want them to join, rather than to your entire Foundry table.
With the User Manager enabled as well, your players will have a new Foundry user created for them and they’ll be logged in automatically when they open the game’s URL.
If you already had users created in your world, you can assign these to your players using the User Manager “Custom User Assignment” interface.
Go into the configuration of the world. Under the “Game Tools” section at the top, select the
Configure Players button. You can enable or disable the User Manager from here. To map your invited players to existing users, press the
Custom User Assignment button and it’ll open a dialog listing the Foundry users and Forge players. Here you can assign the players to their respective user by first pressing the Forge player you want to assign, then the Foundry user, as shown below.
Now that the User manager is enabled and you have assigned your users their players, you can easily manage their permissions from the game’s
Configure players menu.
Managing the player’s roles corresponds to the world’s permissions. You should be able to quickly promote, or demote players to the wanted ranks.
We hope this helps you get started with your new Story teller features, and shows how to use them properly
